About

Welcome to Recipe Realism – where real thinking and home-cooking come together!

When it comes to cooking, I do not like being left so exhausted at the end of a meal’s preparation that I cannot thoroughly enjoy my efforts.  For the longest time, I thought exhaustion was just the price I had to pay for my love of cooking good meals.  Either that or cut the time spent with an ‘easy’ but dissatisfying meal.  I have since realized that ‘easy’ doesn’t have to equal dissatisfying and ‘good’ does not have to equal exhaustion!

Nowadays, as a self-proclaimed realist and a home-cooking enthusiast, I love finding simple recipes that provide taste and sustenance.  With my new-found approach, I get more enjoyment out of cooking.  And a lot of times I’m able to make so-called ‘easy’ recipes even easier!

Here at Recipe Realism I invite you to share in my home-cooking adventures. I enjoy sharing my first-hand experiences with real, simple and tasty recipes.  I also like to include cooking tips, cheats and even kitchen mishaps – hey, let’s get real, not every recipe will turn out perfect!

When I’m not cooking, I enjoy reading, watching movies/TV, a good workout (Zumba, Pilates, and Yoga are favorites!), hanging with friends, volunteering at a local pet rescue shelter and relaxing with my husband and our adorably ornery cat.  I also enjoy hosting get-togethers – although, yes, partly as an excuse to cook more.

Have something to share?  Tips, suggestions, etc.?  Post a comment or shoot an email to reciperealism@gmail.com.
